I have been a professor of geography at Southern Connecticut State University since the fall of 2004, where I manage the Geographic Information Science lab and teach courses in geographic information systems (GIS) and cartography. Additionally, I am the owner and manager of Advanced Location Solutions LLC, specializing in location intelligence for business including trade area and customer market segment analysis, business environment and competitor assessment, and site selection for strategic management. I am available to teach the ESRI Introduction to ArcGIS I course at your site or to host the course at the SCSU Department of Geography, where I teach it approximately every two months.
My current research using GIS involves comparing the trade areas of bank branches in Connecticut and statistically describing the role of location, distance, and geodemographic factors in client retention. In the past I have constructed spatial models in both habitat management and hydrology.
