Jason Courter, GIS Analyst

Summary of Experience:
Mr. Courter is experienced working with municipal and governmental organizations involved with GIS. He has extensive working knowledge of GIS software including Arc/Info, ArcView, AutoCAD, AutoCAD Map, ArcGIS and Visual Basic.  His excellent interpersonal skills, combined with years of technical expertise have resulted in many long- lasting relationships with clients.

Mr. Courter combines years of AutoCAD / ESRI training and experience to develop parcel information data sets.  This specialization requires the ability to convert, develop and utilize data between the two software systems.  Mr. Courter typically works on-site researching deed and ownership data in city vaults and adding that information directly into the Geographic Information System.

Central Connecticut State University –  BA in Geographic Techniques and BA  in Spanish

Representative Project Experience

Town of Southington, CT
Acting as project lead, researched parcel records through the Town’s vault and created GIS closed-polygon parcel layer.  Created and maintains annotation and designed the cartographic layout of the maps.

Town of Narragansett, RI
Acting as project lead, researched records and updated a digital data set of over 11,000 parcels while working on-site.

Town of Branford, CT
Acting as project lead, updated the Town’s digital parcel layer, including the digitizing of parcel lines and the placement of annotation for approximately 5000 parcels and management of 8,000 assessor records.

City of Berlin, CT
Responsible for the annual on-site update of the Assessor’s GIS parcel layer and development of layers used in the GIS Parcel Viewer.

Town of Stonington, CT
Using ArcGIS, responsible for the on-site update of the Town’s GIS parcel and planimetric data layers.
