Integrating inadequate information within the GIS framework diminishes the capabilities of spatial technology solutions. Like many other complex technologies, GIS solutions are only as good as the data they work with. In order to avoid the pitfalls of inaccurate unsubstantiated data, New England GeoSystems works with its clients to help them prepare or "scrub" their source documents for GIS integration.
Our staff has worked with clients to collect, research, and interpret source documents to ensure GIS data integrity. We have reconciled data from a variety of sources including plot plans, subdivision maps, legal descriptions, zoning records and inland wetland maps. In addition, our experience has involved evaluating as-built drawings, facility records, and field notes to ensure that the data used in the GIS meets pre-established standards.
