New England GeoSystems’ consultants are experienced in developing custom GIS/Database solutions to fit a clients need when “off the shelf” software products do not provide the right solution.

NEGEO offers customization/creation of the following applications:
- Customized GIS Data Viewers: ArcGIS, ArcReader, NEGEO’s GIS Parcel Viewer
- Interactive Internet GIS Data Viewers: ArcIMS, ALTA Map, ASPMap
- Internet Property Information: NEGEO’s Online Property Information System
- Public Data Kiosks: NE Utilities Project
- Database Development: MS SQL Server, Oracle, Db2 & MS Access
Visual Basic and MapObjects Programming
New England GeoSystems has extensive experience with Visual Basic and VBA in a wide variety of desktop and client-server application environments. Nearly all our custom GIS and AutoCAD work is done with VB. We have provided a number of our municipal clients with our MapObjects-based customized GIS Viewer. This is a general purpose map and database viewer which we adapt to the specific database needs of each client.
Database Programming
New England GeoSystems consultants are experienced with database programming with both desktop tool and the SQL programming languages. For desktop applications using Visual Basic, we use the Microsoft Active Data Objects (ADO) technology to connect applications with all the major database back-ends including Oracle, SQL Server and MS Access. We strongly recommend the use of Oracle or SQL Server for multi-user and mission-critical applications. We maintain Microsoft SQL Server services on our in-house network.
Integration of GIS and Municipal Business Applications
Because many of our projects have been done at an enterprise level, we have gained strong experience integrating GIS with other municipal applications. Permit management, dispatching, utilities & streets maintenance management, crime analysis, and engineering network modeling can all be enhanced with effective GIS integration. We can work with the application vendors to establish appropriate interfaces. Many software application vendors now offer GIS components with the products and we can assist with selection and implementation of those vendor-provided packages. |
